Maptsoft Asset Tracking and Inspection System

Maptsoft required an asset tracking, inspection and maintenance system connected worldwide in real-time. The system was designed to inspect industrial equipment in any industry and assist with crucial information for decision making around safety, compliance, maintenance and procurement issues.

The system provides a unified reporting and administration view of a worldwide collection of assets out in the field. The information derived from the system can be used for asset inspection and maintenance, procurement as well as marketing and sales of the top performing products. The solution is an end-to-end architecture from the PDA and RFID scanners in the mines, through the synchronisation processes to the centralised web site providing reporting functions and administration.

Entelect was fully responsible for the architecture and design, development, implementation, testing and deployment of this complex occasionally-connected system. The project was managed using a SCRUM methodology. Technologies used for this system include: Microsoft .Net and .Net Compact Frameworks, RFID, Blue Tooth, ASP.Net, Microsoft Sync Framework as well as Windows Mobile 5 & 6 on PDA's. We provided an auto-configure feature which can be centrally changed to reflect the addition of new assets, or changing assets or their information. These changes reflect in real time to assist inspectors in the field.

We delivered within our time lines, to specification and continue to deliver improvements and upgrades to the system.
