Paarl Coldset MIS Scheduler

For the Paarl Coldset MIS Scheduler we developed a schedule manager where planners at Paarl Coldset can plan future printing jobs to maximize usage of their presses.

The Paarl Coldset MIS Scheduler application is used to manage and plan future print jobs. The application has functionality to plan recurring jobs, give information and duration regarding certain jobs and split jobs between presses and towers (there can be up to 8 towers per press).

Entelect developed the Paarl Coldset MIS Scheduler from scratch with very tight deadlines. We had to use the current database that Paarl Coldset had already implemented, which introduced unique challenges. The Paarl Coldset MIS scheduler is written in MVC 3 with a lot of JavaScript to make the user interface as smooth and user friendly as possible. The complexity of this application lies in the fact that it has to be completely dynamic. It has to work at all the plants, which have different presses, different presses have different numbers of towers, different folders etc. By using setup tables in the database, the Paarl Coldset MIS Scheduler allows the system administrators to quickly set up a new press, or plant without the need to refactor any code. The Scheduler consists of a monthly overview, a weekly overview, and a detailed daily view, which breaks up tasks for each press into separate folders and towers.

The Paarl Coldset MIS Scheduler was the first step to move Paarl Coldset from a LogiXML-based application to one written in a modern .Net language.
